Dr. Amanda Dexter earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA in physiologic science and received her optometric training at Southern California College of Optometry where she was the class of 2010’s co-valedictorian and president of Beta Sigma International Optometric Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Dexter continued her education as a Resident at the VA San Diego Healthcare System in La Jolla where she gained an extensive amount of clinical experience in ocular disease management, traumatic brain injury and low vision rehabilitation.
Dr. Dexter currently practices in Del Mar, California with her classmate, Dr. Andrew Fasciani.
Dr. Dexter is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and was the 2022-23 President of the California Optometric Association. She is a past-president of the San Diego County Optometric Society and recipient of both SDCOS and COA’s Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2017 and 2018, and San Diego County Optometrist of the Year in 2021.
