Meet Dr. Robert Yacoub, OD, FAAO

Dr. Yacoub, a native of Southern California, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2002. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. He then completed a residency in Primary Care/Geriatric Optometry at the VA Sepulveda Medical Center.

In 2007, Dr. Yacoub joined the Southern California College of Optometry as a full-time faculty member and is currently an Assistant Professor with clinical teaching responsibilities in the Primary Care/Ocular Disease Services. He also teaches in ocular disease, ocular health procedures, clinical medicine, and case analysis laboratories and courses and has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards.

Dr. Yacoub is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and Board Certified in Medical Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.

Dr. Yacoub has lectured locally and nationally on a variety of ocular disease topics. He has also been involved in various research projects involving retina and glaucoma and has been an author of various publications and posters.
